Title: should you uninstall all old version first?
Post by: guest on December 06, 2003, 03:33:57 AM
Hi,

I was just wondering do you have to unistall all the old version of apache php mysql openssl and zlib before install the new version or is it just a good idea or does it not make any difference. I have everything already installed from when I install them from Red Hat 9 CD's?

Thanks

What I would do, with RH, is install everything to /usr/local/... just as the instructions do, and leave all the old packages be, as some pkgs will require the libs of others.  Just turn RH httpd off.
