Title: Log files
Post by: riley on January 29, 2008, 07:55:08 PM

Things are going well for us. We have had things up for about a couple of weeks with no problems thanks. Do have a question. What is the best way to deal with the log files? The access and error logs. It looks like it can be problematic on WAMP. Doing it manually is not so much a problem if I can limit it to once a month. I don't think the files will be getting too big right away.

Rotating the logs?

You can do this...

I'd suggest rotating by size, and not by time.

If you do use time, note that while you can format the log file name with time/date variables, this will not work with formating the dir structure of the log file path... You can't have \www\Apache22\logs\2008\01\29\access.log, but you can have \www\Apache22\logs\access.2008-01-29.log

The config file you would edit is...
