Title: Drupal 5.7 Installatiion : Access denied
Post by: VictoriaB on April 22, 2008, 12:19:17 AM
Hi,

I've just installed Web.Developer Server Suite Community Edition, proceeded to upgrade Drupal to 5.7 and I've updated the line $db_url = 'mysql://drupal_user:drupal_db_wdp@localhost/drupal'; in my settings file.

I then complete my user 1 (admin) details but when I attempt to sign in as an admin I get the response "Access denied
You are not authorized to access this page." (the page being http://localhost/drupal/?q=user/1/edit).

When I run Drupal 5.3 which comes pre-installed - I have no problems.

I would appreciate it if anyone out there could help me resolve this access issue.

Thank you.

If you are seeing the /drupal page then it's not any type of .htaccess or Apache permissions problem. And if Drupal installs then it's not a problem with the settings.php line.

Try going into /phpmyadmin [user:root, password:rootwdp], delete the drupal database [don't drop the user], create new database named 'drupal', and hit localhost/drupal/install.php and start over. Make sure you are creating the 1st account, not using cap locks, and update the password to something else after that 1st screen.
