pros: provides a lightweight wrapper around the Win32 API, does not depend on any external DLLs, very clean, STL-friendly, produces tiny executabless that run fast
cons: poor documentation, depends on (proprietary)ATL

WiX (Windows Installer XML)

Quote

The Windows Installer XML (WiX) is a toolset that builds Windows installation packages from XML source code. The toolset supports a command line environment that developers may integrate into their build processes to build MSI and MSM setup packages.
