Title: Server Maintenance Tool
Post by: sscotti on December 12, 2005, 01:18:20 PM
I was just wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a GUI tool to manage a home server using Apache, PHP, MySQL, .etc, like the package available on your web site.  I already have a MySQL tool that I can use.  I mostly need something for Apache and whatever else you recommend.

I once used webmin for Linux installations, but I am running windows xp and there isn't a very wide selection from what I see.  There is something called ApacheConf for about $80.00 and there is something called Apache Admin but it doesn't work with XP.  There is apparently a Windows version of Webmin but it is a little sketchy

Well I made a program called ApacheMon,

It might not be exactly what your looking for though.

It provides a ColorCoded editor for apache conf files, stop/start/restart apache from system tray and provides a gui for some comon tools like ab.exe, htpasswd.exe...

If you are interested the link is in my Signiture

Thanks for the tip.  Like the site, and it is a nice little utility.  I will find is useful for some things, although there is another program called ApacheConf that is commericial that allows a little more detailed configuration.  Whatever happended to WebMin for Windows?

Yeah i know ApacheConf has nice gui for changing configuration files and ftp/smb uploading of config file.

the qui is rather hard to implement, so i didn't bother with it, since i made that in my spare time.

IIRC there is/was alwso a mmc plugin for apache... can't remember if it was free or not but i used that before i made ApacheMon.
