A second thought, can you setup to have 2 phpMyAdmin but only 1 MySQL to use for both IIS and Apache?

Thanks in advance

So you can't have only one MySQL and one phpMyAdmin to use for both IIS and Apache?

Thanks a lot for quick replying.

If you have both IIS and Apache (WDS), can you have only one phpMyAdmin that works for both IIS and Apache? If yes, how to configure it?

Thanks a million

Yes, $AdminName and $AdminPass are root and yes, I'm trying to access mysql db to create new db account. Is there any restriction when accessing mysql db? I did tried w/ phpmyadmin, and it generated "create user..." instead "insert..." and I'm not sure how to run query w/ syntax "create..."

Thanks for quick reply

When coding form and save as php, I've got white screen if using IE but it works fine w/ Firefox. Not sure if you've got same problem.
7  DeveloperSide.NET / Anything else goes here / Problem create new mysql user w/ php code on: January 29, 2007, 07:01:11 PM
Hi,
I'm new to mysql and php and coding, so on and trying to create new mysql user w/ php code as below, but always got error message "Error, insert query failed". Please, point out what I did wrong and how to fix it. BTW, don't yell at me if this forums doesn't support coding, and yes, I do know that I can use phpmyadmin but just want to practice on coding.

<?php
$connect = mysql_pconnect('localhost', $AdminName, $AdminPass) or die('Error, login db failed');
mysql_select_db(mysql) or die('Error, open db failed');
$query = "INSERT INTO user(Host, User, Password) VALUES('localhost', '$UserName', '$UserPass')";
mysql_query($query) or die('Error, insert query failed');
$query = "FLUSH PRIVILEGES";
mysql_query($query) or die('Error, flush query failed');
?>

And even tried it w/ this code
$query = "INSERT INTO user(Host, User, Password, Select_priv, Insert_priv, Update_priv) VALUES ('localhost', $UserName, PASSWORD($UserPass), 'Y', 'Y', 'Y')";

Thanks a million

you have not create a mysql database/db-user for phpBB to use
I think it's mostly this reason, and hope you extract that cms in different folder too

No, I don't think we want to change their locations, but I'm just telling you the different approach of setting up wamp package. Just the dicussion to learn more things for our knowdleges, and when I say our I mean our group, not including you because we're beginners and still have to learn a lot of things.

We never really compiled any wamp package before and a little curious to do it just for testing. Is it very hard? Can we use VC++ 8 instead 6?

No, there is no either copy of my.ini or php.ini in windows root in our other computer and I mean to migrate our projects, not my.ini and php.ini because we do know that they are different from the ones in wds.

That is the point because I search the other computer, which still have the old wamp package since we're still in progress of migrating all data over to this computer which has wds, and I can't find any my.ini and php.ini except my.ini in mysql folder and php.ini in php folder and both mysql and php folders are in wamp folder which is in D: drive.
