/ Re: Installing Zend Optimizer

The installer will extract some dlls, place them in a non standard directory (not into php's ext folder) and modify the php.ini file (if it can find it) to load the zend extension. There is no telling which settings it will use (zend optimizer + loader/decoder + etc). But nothing you won't be able to undo/fix with an edit to php.ini.

/ Re: Help Switching PHP versions via the Components Tab to change PHP Builds
on: February 08, 2011, 11:10:25 PM
I am confused as to how the Webdeveloper.exe manages to distinguish which version of each part of the Apache Stack is currently running.  I keep ending back up at the junction file for php but I cant seem to find how the WebDeveloper.exe App is using the PHP that it is currently stuck on (php-5.2.14.0-r2-win32-vc6-beta)

WD sets up an NTFS Junction Point from \WampDeveloper\Components\Php to the specific version in the \WampDeveloper\Versions\Php folder. It can also detect the junction point's target ... so it's always aware of the in-use version.

What specific version are you trying to switch to?

WampDeveloper will only allow switching to a version that exists on the system, and only within the subscribed branches... If the subscription is for 5.2, you will not be able to switch to 5.3 without switching the subscription info.

Try closing WampDeveloper.exe and see if that helps.

How are you accessing it? Via an ip address, host name, domain name?

If you are not getting a 404/not found code back than the request is not reaching the server. Check your domain resolution, router port forwards, correct IP address, etc.

Does this module have a configuration?

Try different path formats:
For example with "D:\temp", try:
D:/temp
D:\temp
\temp
/temp
D:\temp\

It might only like one of those.

In the file name the "nts" part is short for "not thread safe".

NTS versions of php extensions are built to run as CGI/FastCGI processes under PHP.

TS/Thread Safe versions are built to run under a process that creates many threads: for PHP running as a Apache module.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/wincache/files/

I don't see any thread safe versions which kind of makes sense since WinCache was developed to be used by IIS which runs PHP as FastCGI by preference.

You'd probably have to build WinCache yourself to get the TS version and even then it might not work very well.

v4 is not compatible with v3; you would have to disable v3 before installing and then apply your changes manually. (v4 is also in private beta right now as is not generally available, maybe in a month or so we'll have the public release)

You could try creating an .htaccess file in the DocumentRoot folder of domain #2 with this line in it:
DirectoryIndex forum.php

...to override the global (httpd.conf) DirectoryIndex directive for that particular web site.

Your home page has the Google Analytics script. This script sets cookies. There is no way around this. If you remove the inclusion of this tracking script, and clear your browser's cookies, you should not see any more cookies being set on that particular page.

If you are using IE8, open your home page, go to Tools, Developer Tools, Cache, View Cookie Information.

The cookies I'm seeing have names that search back to the Google Analytics script.

The webapps and scripts on your other pages (like the forums) will set their own cookies also.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/webdeveloper/files/

Try the pre-2.0 versions. They're most like that one you probably delt with.

A new v4.0 is comming out very very soon. Both Community Edition and Pro.
