6  DeveloperSide.NET / Building a Web Server, for Linux / probllems starting apache on: October 01, 2004, 02:19:20 AM
hello,
not sure why but i cann't seem to start apache.
i used the instructions posted on developerside.
apache installed without any problems and didn't see any error messages.

i think i have to configuration correct:
copy/pasted the commands i ran to start apache:
[root@comgen bin]# ./apachectl start
[root@comgen bin]# ./apachectl stop
httpd (no pid file) not running
[root@comgen bin]#
as u can see on the sec line when i tried stoping the server it displays the msg its not runing.
i checked the logs folder but theres nothing in there to indicate what the problem is, whats in the log file is:
error (2) no such file or directory: could not open transfer log file /usr/local/apache2/log/access_log.  unable to openlogs..

any ideas what i'm doing wrong
