Hi

I have a domain name that is pointing to my server ip address.  This works fine but when moving from the initial home page to anywhere within my home server setup it only works off my ip address and not the domain url address.  My server needs to be altered somehow to use the domain name and not the ip address it is using now.  How do I do this?

Regards

Sounds you have it configured that way. The public ip and domain name are interchangeable. If something is only working from the IP, than you are either using a local ip (something like 192.168.*.*) or something is configured wrong. Give an example.

I have used DeveloperSide.Net suite before now but at the moment I am experimenting with Joomlasolutions setup.  I will probably go back to your suite when I understand things more.  At the moment though I can access admin etc a lot easier.  I dislike the apache dosbox that appears with Joomla and would rather dispose of it and return to your software.  I would be faced with the same problem if I was using your software at the moment so your help is appreciated.

My site is mkjsworld.co.uk (also .com) and the domain is pointing to my home server ip address: http://81.174.144.110:85.  When someone types the domain name they end up on my computer with the title bar stating mkjsworld.co.uk.  Perfect.  But on moving from the initial page to anywhere else such as my forum on http://81.174.144.110:85/ourforum the url of http://mkjsworld.co.uk/ourforum doesn't work.  My server needs to function on mkjsworld.co.uk.

Hope the above makes sense  :? .

Why dont you just run everything from port 80 (http) and you can skip that port number part. Otherwise, this could be some dns-server issue.
