Hello,

I am wondering what your suggestions are for high-quailty security apps to protect my server and services?

I run WindowsXPsp2 and the devside server suite (binary install, non-ssl).

What I use:

Anti-Virius:  Kaspersky A/V

Anti-Trojan:  Trojan Defense Suite 3

FireWall: I was using ZoneAlarm Pro but after reading this site I uninstalled it.

I was thinking of using Kerio for my firewall but I would like your opinions first.  I am not too fimilar with hardware firewalls but I believe their supposed to be superior to software firewalls.

I am unfimilar with network monitors and local packet sniffers, should I use these to ensure my servers security and log/prevent system intrusion?

What other security apps should I be running?

I appologize for these simple questions but I have never run a server before.  There are many choices out there and I would like your opinions before I install anything.

Thanks very much :D

I'de say, get a router with firewall, you might need to setup some port forwarding. but it would also take the load of scanning the packets away fro your webserver.
